Rarely seen without a pencil in hand, Katherine loves to create stories and illustrations that stretch the imagination. She enjoys playing with the sounds and shapes of words in the same way that she plays with lines, textures and colors in her artwork.
Katherine's goal is to create whimsical, engaging stories that encourage inventive thinking and problem solving. She especially likes the picture book genre, where each turn of the page brings new surprises. Her stories can be used in a variety of ways to enhance classroom curriculum.
A former elementary teacher, Katherine has a B.A. in Education and M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. She is a member of SCBWI.
Her published books include: Lewis and Clark, Come Home Before Dark! (2019), What Can I Play? (2020), and Where The Wild Words Went (2021)
Katherine has also created illustrations for several product labels and logo designs. She is currently working on a middle-grade chapter book.
When she's not working in the studio, Katherine is taking yoga classes, devouring books, or walking outdoors with her family and dogs. As new residents of Columbus, she and her husband have been discovering all the interesting places to explore!
